Views from Airplanes -- Houston Hobby to DFW
Looking out the window of an American Eagle regional jet just after boarding for my afternoon flight home from Houston Hobby

Local ground crew grabbing the gate checked carry ons

Delta Connection bird just a couple of gates down. Probably going to Atlanta

Vision Airlines 737-400 (N742VA) came in just before takeoff. Found out later that this was one of their final flights into Hobby before pulling out of the airport altogether

Views from Hotel Rooms -- SpringHill Suites Houston Hobby Airport
Looking north out the window of a somewhat unimpressive SpringHill Suites. There wasn't really anything wrong with the hotel. People were friendly, and the room was comfortable. Just can't say it was anything more than 'average'. Maybe it was the view of concrete that made it feel so bland.

Ahh a view of the parking lot for the hotel next door. Score!

The hotel was remodeling and using the shipping crates for storage

I wonder if the other Marriott has a better view. Bet they do. Lucky bastards.

Views from Airplanes -- DFW to Houston Hobby
Random view from the American Eagle regional jet taking me down to Houston on a very warm/humid day

Nothing much going on out my window today

Always wonder why American Airlines always seems to have either a bunch of empty gates, or a bunch of parked planes just sitting at them. Noticed the same at Chicago/ORD too. Seems like the planes would make more money if they were constantly in use, and then maybe (just maybe) they wouldn't need to pay rent on so many gates they don't really need

Apparently my HOA's definition for 'End of the Month' is today, based on how they're sending their '$100 mowing crew' through the neighborhood this morning

Ahh, vindication -- after 6+ months of telling them they had a problem, and that it wasnt there until they tore up the intersection last summer running a new water pipe -- the City of Denton has finally found the minor water leak that has been eroding the street to my neighborhood. Exactly where they were told it was.

Trying to remember if election years were this polarizing when I was a kid, or if this is the unfortunate result of the political theatre and 'wedge issue tactics' i've seen so strongly pushed from both sides over the last 16 years
