Unexpected

Nothing like coming home and seeing two Denton Cop cars in front of the house.   Apparently they were staging for a visit down the street

@christoperj:

Wow. I knew that American Air management's relationship with their employees is way beyond bad. But how the unions are looking to discombobulated US Air management to fly in and save them is disturbingly telling

What the Crap, FedEx (Again) !?

Thank you FedEx for leaving yet another package at the front entry without even bothering to ring the doorbell, even though the open front door clearly showed somebody was home to take delivery. You even get bonus points for also leaving it in a small puddle!

Way to not give a crap about the most basic absolute requirement of your service -- guaranteeing the safe delivery of what is being sent

You also get an "extra head bang to the desk in frustration" by having your CSR agent tell me you dont have to ring the doorbell when a signature is not required and claiming its the shipper's fault for apparently not asking for what anybody else would consider simple customer service.

A job well done, guys!

@christoperj:

Wondering if the 10 webpage hits I saw earlier from 2 separate American Airlines IPs were due to my earlier post or just a really weird coincidence

@christoperj:

Wish Alaska Air would find a reason to buy out American Air and bring all their customer focused service with them, because the thought of a US Air takeover seriously scares the crap out of me

Score! Just got an email from the FBI that I won an international lottery. I just need to send them my bank info to claim. Seems legit. Surprised the FBI cant find out such info on their own.

Visiting Butterflies

Headed out for lunch and found a flock (or whatever a group of butterflies are called) had came by the Fort for a quick lunch of their own. I don't remember this ever happening before in the 9 years I've been living here. Usually have only seen this kind of swarm (or whatever) in the country taking advantage of the wide open spaces.

Of the four or so I got pictures of, there were seven or eight in other bushes or otherwise didn't want to stay still long enough to be counted.

Wow -- only 9:47a and the day is already been surreal.

@christoperj:

Annoyed that AA wont credit my miles on the MIA>MCO leg of my Orlando trip because their system 'lost' the ticket info (although it shows I clearly got to MIA on the 1st leg, and left MCO on the 3rd).

Hopefully faxing them 7 pages of docs with boarding passes, ticket receipts, and the problem history will jog their memory.

About 10 minutes after sitting down in my Coach seat, the Gate Agent came onto the plane and handed me a complimentary Gold upgrade to First Class due to the number standby passengers on he was trying to accommodate.

I thought at the time it was some serendipity to make up for what had been a very weird travel day. Didn't realize it was going to make their system choke and be such a stupid hassle to get fixed.

Update 4/20:
All the documentation I submitted apparently worked.  The miles were posted as of this morning.

Saddened that the changes came to what they did at one of the local non-profit's I support, but greatly encouraged by the positive long term approach being taken to restore the program to where it should be.

Amused that when people add me to FB groups without asking, they think its ok. But when I add these same people to my "I spammed Christopher into a FB group without asking" group - they seem to get annoyed for some reason

After an afternoon of storm destruction, looks to be setting up for a relaxing sunset

@christoperj:

Somehow Alicia and I separately found the only two places in DFW where there wasnt a tornado or hailstorm today. Good times.

The clouds did begin to lower as they passed by the Fort. While they were circulating (drawing a Tornado Warning), but thankfully in a loose chaotic way that didnt amount to anything destructive.
